ID Card Policies

Cards are Non-Transferrable
The ID Card is the property of Brigham Young University and is for internal campus use only. BYU is not liable for any external use or acceptance of the card. Neither the card nor any associated services or privileges are transferrable. The card is not valid unless signed in ink and must be surrendered upon request.

ID Card Replacement
There is a $10.00 fee to replace a card which has been lost or intentionally abused.
Stolen cards will be replaced at no charge after a report has been filed with the police (any police dept.). You must bring the police case number to the ID Center.
Patrons falsely reporting a stolen card will be reported to the Honor Code Office.
Damaged cards will be replaced at no charge when the old card is presented to the ID Center. If the picture on the old card is unrecognizable the card holder may be required to present another form of picture ID.

Name Change
Students who have changed their name need to notify the Records office before a new card can be issued.
Employees need to notify the Benefits office before a new card can be issued.
ID cards will be replaced at no charge when the old card is presented to the ID Center.

ID Card Photo
The ID Center is required to take a new photo every time an ID card is printed. This means you will need to meet Dress and Grooming Standards every time you replace your ID card. If you have a valid beard waiver from the Honor Code Office, please bring your current ID card to the ID Center to receive a new ID card.
Your ID photo can be viewed by your professors and other BYU department staff (potential employers for on-campus jobs). Please keep this in mind as you pose for the camera.
