Full-time employees of the University have two options for the type of Signature Card account they would like to have, a Signature Card Account, or a Payroll Deduction Account.

Signature Card Account

The Signature Card is a debit account, utilizing the university ID card. Nearly all retail outlets on campus accept the Signature Card, including Dining Services, vending machines, the BYU Bookstore, WSC retail operations, copy centers, designated copy machines, ticket offices and computer labs.

To check your account balance log into Route Y and select the Signature Card and Meal Plans link under the Miscellaneous drop-down menu.

To add money to your account log into Route Y and select the Signature Card and Meal Plans link under the Miscellaneous drop-down menu.  On your personalized Signature Card webpage, select the Deposit link from the menu on the left.

Others can add money to your signature card using Quick Pay.

Deposits and balance inquiries are also available at most locations displaying the Signature Card logo.

Payroll Deduction Account

Only full-time staff, faculty and administrative BYU employees are eligible for this plan.  Please visit the Signature Card ID Center, 2310 WSC, to fill out the Authorization form.

The Payroll Deduction plan allows you to make purchases on campus and have the charges deducted from your paychecks. You set a credit limit - the amount you would like to be able to spend per payroll period. The limit is reset on the first day of the new payroll period, and only the amount spent is deducted from your paycheck.

For staff employees, the deductions will come out of the check received for the payroll period in which the transactions occurred.

For faculty and administrative employees, the deductions will come from the check received at the end of the month following the payroll period in which the transactions occurred.  For example, purchases made in May will be deducted from the June 30th paycheck. Faculty and administrative employees leaving the univeristy should contact the Signature Card ID Center as soon as possible.
